“The world will be saved by the western woman.”
These words were spoken at the Vancouver Peace Summit in 2009 by the Dalai Lama. The western woman certainly has a good shot at bringing about a peaceful coexistence on planet crazy, but it seems slow going until . . . until you look at all the work being done that is not necessarily given a lot of public attention.
The majority of the problems brought upon cultures of the world are being instigated by a patriarchal source. I’m not saying that powerful women are not playing a part in letting the problems persist, but women are not the most influential voices in the room. We make our difference on the world stage in a quieter, yet on-going and maddeningly persistent way. We are not looking to be rescued like a stranded motorist on the side of the highway waiting for a tow service Dayton OH to come along.
