Billy moved to Sointula 1935 and lived there until the family made the move to Port McNeill when Pioneer Timber ceased operations on Malcolm Island. Port McNeill then became home until 1956. Billy then moved back to Sointula where he lived for the rest of his life. He was very involved in the fishing and logging industry. He logged for Pioneer Timber and other companies in his younger years and then worked as a hand logger for the rest of his logging days. Billy also fished commercially for many years until his retirement and then it was a day out with the jigger on his beloved Herbie. He was a member of the IWA and the UFAWU and the Malcolm Island Lions Club in its early years. Billy loved the quiet life, his home, his garden and his family.
Billy will always be missed and forever loved by his family, relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ham and all the others who showed so much care and concern for Billy during his illness.
